The Priority Programme NANOMAT requires interdisciplinary collaboration of scientists working in the fields of materials synthesis, materials development, process development and characterisation, including modelling of material systems. This project involves the coordination of the Priority Programme. It will assist the spokesman of the Priority Programme with the organisation of a collaborative and integrative framework for scientists and industrial partners. After launching the Priority Programme, 3 project-related research groups were set up by the SPP coordinator:

•Structural Materials
•Functional Materials
•Microsystems, Membranes, Catalysis

In addition, an international, scientific network will be created to promote cooperation between scientists and foreign partners. In order to reinforce the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas, an active website (www.spp-nanomat.de) serves as an information network. The homepage is updated with the current research results from the individual project groups providing a platform for their multidisciplinary research work.
